To assess the food group preferences of tribal communities in Anjaw District.
A predominance of cereal-based diets with limited consumption of fruits and vegetables, falling short of the recommendations outlined in RDA (2020).
A cross-sectional survey was conducted using the 24-hour dietary recall method to evaluate dietary intake and food group preferences.
A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 160 farmers and farmwomen in Anjaw district. A food frequency questionnaire, combined with the 24-hour dietary recall method, was used to assess the intake of various food groups.
The findings revealed that the majority of respondents primarily consume cereal-based diets, especially rice as the staple food, along with root crops. In contrast, the consumption of other food groups was comparatively low.
