Training programme on Livestock & Poultry Feed Formulation

ICAR-KVK Anjaw organized 3 days capacity building of farmers through training on Feed Formulation and its importance for different groups of Livestock and Poultry at Khupa on 21 to 23/02/22. The aim of the training programme was to furnish practical demonstration and scientific information on feed formulation for Livestock and Poultry bird using locally available ingredients. During the inaugural programme special guest Sh. SK Singh Senior Lecturer, DIET Khupa highlighted about scarcity of feed materials and concentrate feed in Anjaw district especially during heavy and prolong rainy weather. He also explained about nutrition as science and art encourage participants to use the opportunity to get acquainted with technical knowledge and practical experience in feed formulation for livestock and poultry especially using local feed ingredients. The course director cum Head KVK Anjaw Dr Santosh Kumar welcome all the participants and elucidated about importance of balance feed for milk as well as meat production. Under technical session, digestive system, digestion, quality of ration, characteristics of good quality concentrate and feed for different age group and production level of livestock and poultry was cover. Anjaw is one of the remotest eastern part of the country where transportation is limited. Therefore, to improve quality and medicinal value of feed, information on use of local herb and medicinal plant was also imparted. Practical and demonstration on feed formulation in different ratio and least cost ration for livestock and poultry as well as making High energy lick Mineral Block (HELMB) was conducted. Total 41 participants along with KVK SMS Mr. Peter Singh and KC Gogoi attended the programme.
