Problem diagnosed: Lack of knowledge on mushroom cultivation and unavailability of paddy straw.

Result: The Scientific production of Oyster Mushroom was conducted among 50 SHGs member including rural youths at different villages namely, Tafraliang, Swami Camp, Chamengliang, Manchal, Mushai, Metengliang and Khupaliang during the year 2023-24 to demonstrate the technical know-how in mushroom cultivation. The average cost of cultivation was around Rs. 73,500 with gross return of Rs. 1, 68,000 and the net return was Rs. 94,500 with benefit cost ratio of 2.2. The average straw requirements per bag were 3 kg with spawn requirement of 125g per 3 kg bag.
